From Data to Decisions: Catalyzing Healthcare System Transformation for Timely and Accurate Diagnosis of ADRD

The Fall Meeting of the DAC Healthcare System Preparedness Learning Laboratory, 15 November 2023

On November 15th, the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative (DAC) Healthcare System Preparedness Learning Laboratory convened nearly 500 stakeholders from 45 countries and 300+ organizations to share insights and opportunities to accelerate timely detection and accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as learnings from DAC’s Early Detection Blueprint and ongoing collaboration with researchers, advocates, health systems and more around the world.

With growing recognition of the full scale of the dementia challenge – more than 400 million people globally with dementia or preclinical dementia – there is also growing evidence, tools, and strategies that provide a path forward. The imperative now is to move from data to decisions, implementation, and increasing healthcare system capacity and preparedness, especially in low and middle-income countries that have too often been left out of dementia research and responses.
