The Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative Shares Progress on the Global Effort to Combat the Disease at Alzheimer's Association International Conference 2022

What: Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative Experts Offer the Following Presentations:

  1. Rhoda Au, Ph.D. will present on building a globally representative cohort through a technology enabled approach, and will be joined by three principal investigators among the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative Global Cohorts:

    • Digitally enabled Cognitive Assessments in the Identification and Intervention for Dementia in Elderly Africans (IDEA) Study - by Stella-Maria Paddick, Ph.D.

    • The Panama Aging Research Initiative: Dementia-related biomarker research in a low-resourced setting - by Gabrielle B. Britton, Ph.D.

    • Building the Research Path for Identifying and Validating Cognition-related Digital Biomarkers - by Li-Kai Huang, M.D.

  2. Tim MacLeod, Ph.D. will lead a session identifying the framework for disclosing Alzheimer’s disease biomarker results following cognitive assessment within a multi-country implementation evaluation.

  3. Tamiko McGee Rodgers, Ph.D. will provide an overview of a multigenerational, inclusive program in Rio Grande City, Texas, to improve access and enrollment in clinical trials for an underserved population.

  4. Douglas Beauregard will present new research about the Bio-Hermes biomarker study, which is the first-ever platform study to compare results of a broad array of blood plasma and digital biomarker tests compared with amyloid PET images across 1,000 participants, including more than 200 people from the African American or Hispanic communities.

  5. George Vradenburg is available to brief on the following:

    • A partnership with Kenya’s Brain and Mind Institute at Aga Khan University

    • Innovations being deployed via 20 healthcare pilots around the world

    • Progress toward building a cohort of one million to diversify clinical research

Why: The Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative (DAC) is a global effort to spark genuine collaboration among scientists, healthcare providers, government health ministers, philanthropists and corporate leaders, to speed innovation and stop Alzheimer’s disease. Launched at the World Economic Forum’s 2021 meeting on The Davos Agenda, the Collaborative is committed to a new vision for a collective global response against the challenges Alzheimer’s presents to patients, caregivers and healthcare systems.
